ITT Corporation Integrates Sales Force and Improves Products and Services in China

 

Beijing, China – January 30, 2008, ITT Corporation, a world leading provider of water and wastewater treatment solutions, recently announced that it will greet the Beijing Olympic Year with a brand-new sales force. Starting from January 1, 2008, the sales force of its three business lines under ITT's Fluid Technology—water and wastewater treatment, housing and industrial water supply, and industrial processes—has merged into a unified sales organization of ITT China’s Fluid Technology titled “IFE”. Having integrated ITT’s sales, supporting and services sectors in China and capitalized on the overall advantage of ITT in building services, industrial and public works, this organization will continue to boost China’s public works construction and environmental pollution control during and after the hosing of the Beijing Olympic Games.

 

This merge includes many brands under ITT, including Flygt, Goulds Pumps, B&G, Lowara, Sanitaire and WEDECO. It involves every factor of the product and technology services in the delivery control as well as treatment of the fluid. The adoption of IFE is an important strategic decision made by ITT after deeply analyzing China’s fluid market. ITT Corporation has long been committed to bringing its world leading water treatment technology to China and supporting China’s urban construction and environmental protection.  Since the successful bid for 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing municipal government has invited public biddings for many large-scale water and wastewater engineering projects, to expedite the construction of Olympic venues and meanwhile control city environment.  In the past years, ITT has successfully won many of such kinds of bids, and has kept offering technology support and overall solution for the building of the environmentally-friendly Beijing and the hosting of a green Olympic Games.  Among others, the professional technology team of ITT designed and built a rainwater pump system for Olympic Sunken Garden, which became a highlight of the equipment for pump technology of the whole Olympic Games.  The National Stadium, the main venue of the Beijing Olympic Games, has adopted 大流量端吸泵 manufactured in Nanjing by ITT Goulds Pumps. The National Conference Center of the Beijing Olympic Games has adopted air-conditioning pump as well as its patented Hydrover frequence-conversion water supply unit. The slalom course for canoe/kayak of Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park also has used Flygt 7000 large-scale 轴流泵组 of ITT, which can create a huge fluid water strip covering as long as 280 meters and has made the course design of the Beijing Olympics the most difficult one in the Olympic history.  In addition, ITT has recently succeeded wining a slew of bids for Beijing’s large-scale construction projects. For instance, ITT obtained the project of air-conditioning and water supply system in the new CCTV mansion, the project of air-conditioning and fire safety system in Beijing Yintai Center, and the offer of water supply units and solutions for the Financial Street of Beijing.

 

Besides the construction of Olympic venues, the improvement of public works construction, with the Olympics as the turning point, is also a major task of Beijing and even China. In water aspect, Beijing has newly built 6 wastewater treatment plants in the urban area, which have effectively kept the water pollution in check and obviously improved the water environment of the urban region. Meanwhile, the construction and testing of water and wastewater as well as water supply network in many districts of Beijing are all under way.  In 2007, ITT successfully won the bid for the clean water project in Beijing’s Xiaohongmen Wastewater Treatment Plant and helped it build a whole process of treating wastewater through ultraviolet radiation technology. It has greatly improved the water quality nearby and won acclaims from both residents and government bodies concerned.
